Daily Cheagle 2024-01-31

Today was a very adventurous day for Henley. We made our way into town which was very exciting for her since heavy snowfalls tend to limit our walking range.

Our walk began by passing our little creek which Henley seemed to find very interesting.

A very important lesson in owning a Cheagle is knowing they are small dogs. They are inexplicably drawn to tight places. Whenever they are being introduced to a new space, even if it’s enclosed, make sure to check for holes large enough for a Cheagle to fit through. Henley is demonstrating this concept nicely above.

What unfortunately comes with lots of snowmelt along roads is a lot of dirt! Henley is modeling very properly that Cheagles tend to pick up lots of stuff from their surroundings since they’re so low to the ground. Her entire bottom half was dripping mud.

Henley was so dirty, we had to move her semi-annual bath up to today. The photo barely does justice of just how much dirt came off this dog, but the tub had a ring of grime when we were done. Cheagles tend to dislike water, and baths are a big time bad time for Cheagles.

Henley is a trooper though, so a brave, clean, fluffy Cheagle is rewarded with treats. We traded the mud on her belly for treats in her belly. Henley was very sleepy the rest of the day due to all the excitement; the bath wore her out more than the walk into town.
